Background:
Due to South Africa’s high poverty levels, many bright young individuals have a bleak future regarding job opportunities, let alone getting into a career of their choice. Transport, technology, and after school education programs are often taken for granted here, but a lack of any of these factors present massive challenges that can often prevent young people from reaching their goals.
This year we have selected Siphokazi, passionate young woman, for our Young Adult Development Program. We would like to help her reach her dream of becoming a good computer users and being able to teach her knowledge to the community. She has proven to be a helpful member of the Alicedale community in helping the Day Care Center.
Aim:
Our hope here is to raise funds in an effort to pay for Siphokazi to be able to attend a computer course in Port Elizabeth, allowing her to attend a three-day courses throughout the year and giving her a chance to take control of her future. The course teach focuses in Word and Excel and she aims to being able to create CV, so that she will be able to help communities members that wishes to create one. This will allow more people to apply for jobs.
Many young people in poor communities have the potential to be great, but have no support system and, unfortunately, end up stuck and unable to realize their full potential. Donations to projects, such as this one, will help more than you could ever imagine; we just have to find those individuals and connect them with the right people and support systems.
