Children school uniform

It only takes a moment to change a life forever

Background:

Kids in the townships are washing their school uniform outside every second day because they might wear the same shirt every day or wear broken shoes or clothes with holes in them

Aim:

Our local partner will be able to put together the uniform. The most part of the money will be invested in shoes. The projects will provied uniform to 15 children.

Update:

On the 22th of July ten teachers participate at this workshop! Check out our pictures and some live video at: https://www.facebook.com/WeShamwari

Moreover, Erica Noddings-Zinola, a vet volunteer, went to the teachers workshop. Read all about her experience here:

“While having an incredible time working with animals on Shamwari, I had the awesome opportunity to work with the preschool teachers in the impoverished Alicedale and Patterson communities. The day was sponsored by WeShamwari, and the purpose of the training day was to provide the teachers with activities that would help prepare the children for the coming school year! My personal favorite was having the kids make hedgehogs out of playdoh; the pinching action to make the quills is a good way for kids to develop fine motor skills and the muscles needed to grip pencils. It was really heartwarming to see the passion of these teachers and their drive to provide their children with the best possible skills to succeed in life. These teachers certainly have a tough job with one teacher having 96 children in her class! I really enjoyed my time with these women and can’t wait to volunteer again soon! #weshamwari “

Goal: $700
